i dont own one ... but i used a friends D40x last weekend ... it was good ... not as fast as a canon D30 ... but still good ... i might end up buying one ... if i cant get a good price for a D60 ...
May be you should also consider a D40. If you are in US, Amazon have a good price lately. I am a little regret of not gettign the D40 instead of the D40x. The D40 got better high ISO performance than D40x or D60.
Oh yea, I have a D40 with a 70-300vr lens, i love it, iv been doing photography for about a year no and thats the only camera iv ever owned, now there are some some downs to having this camera, but over all i love it, i am thinking about upgrading to a D80 soon, anyone have any opinons on that?
Mine's a D40 and I currently use 4 different lenses - the kit lens, a Nikon 70-300VR (lovely to use), a Sigma 30mm f1.4 prime (a pig to use but uniquely able for handheld night shots), and finally a Sigma 10-20 which is easily my favourite lens and an absolute joy to use.
The only advantage of using the D80 I could see is the ability to use AF lens. But that is not something so tempting to me as there is a lot of AFS lenses choice already. Mmm, I hope I could get my 70-200 sooon.
I'm a d40 user. if you only know how to take good shots, this camera is a great tool:D I use the kit lens, 18-55mm, and a 70-300 VR. sometimes borrowing my friend's nikkor 12-24 and my girlfriend's tokina 12-24.
I've got a d60. It's new, and I'm stuck with the kit lens until I can get some money in my pockets. I'm drooling over some of the nice fast lenses while I curse at Nikon for not putting a DOF meter on AF-S lenses (at least the ones I've seen).
