As photographers, we often take it for granted that we can walk around in most places in this world and take a picture without fear of being arrested, accosted or harassed. It is unfortunate when these freedoms are taken away.

I'm sure most everyone out there has been following the recent events in Iran. Aminus3 has always had a strong Iranian community of creative and talented photographers and my heart goes out to each of you who has been affected by the recent events in your country. While it is not our intention to choose sides or debate politics, I think that as photographers, and as humans on this little planet, we should in some small way express our gratitude for those of us who are still able to freely express our thoughts and opinions and to honor those who can not.

I'm opening up this forum for anyone that would care to express their gratitude, their support or their opinion on this topic. For those that wish to express their thoughts but remain anonymous, you may email support@aminus3.com with your comment and we will post it for you.

Perhaps we can think of a site wide theme to support the photographers among us who are not able to share their voice at this time. All ideas are welcome.

    thanks,
    jason

OK - we have created a new color template called Caspian Green - you can turn it on in your Admin settings. I'll create another forum post and introduce the idea.
  1.
Just checked in and saw this, and changed my theme to Caspian Green. One of the things I really love about Am3 is the sense of community we can have here with photographers from all over the world, and I have been privileged to connect with several people from Iran. Like Jason and Aaron, I, too, appreciate and support our photographers in Iran, many of whom have been very courageous in posting photos of recent happenings.

Thanks and best wishes to all,
    Eric

Many many thanks for all your kindness, support and warm senses,,, these days are hard and sad days for Us, Iranians inside Iran are fighting for freedom, rights, and better future, crackdown is very heavy and many ways have been closed for us, but the movement will certainly find the way and although we are mourning our martyrs killed in protests and suffer from heavy limitations, , but that is very inspiring for us that finally the world is hearing us (the people) much more different from what it used to hear from the government,,, HOPE FOR CHANGE
  3.
We can also support our Iranian friends on aminus3 by seeking out their photoblogs, responding to their posts showing what has been happening in the streets there, and making them know to others. All the best to them and to their country for a brighter future.

Hi Wishingstar - thank you for your kind words. It is wonderful to know that Am3 has had a positive effect in your life and that you find value here.

Are you still having a problem seeing photos? Have you talked to other Iranian members? Do you know if this is being blocked all over Iran?

Are you still seeing the same thing?

It is possible they are not blocking Aminus3 specifically but blocking our images which are stored on Amazon S3. As an experiment -

To try to track down what's going on --

See if you can see an image directly at this link
    http://aminus3.s3.amazonaws.com/image/g0001/u00000002/i01145701/ba226c4902a853e29cc8c6be54a45342_large.jpg

then see if you can see the image at this link
    http://s3.amazonaws.com/trazzler-images/af/521/blue_lagoon.jpg

    report back what you see.
  6.
OMG still I see nothing but the blocking page. :(( I tried both of ur likns

ok thanks for checking that - it seems like they are blocking Amazon S3 web service which is where our images are stored. We'll have to look into some more and figure out what can be done.
