    As I was taking pictures, the shutter won't release. As if frozen. Then I turned it off,on again, . I even tried to change the battery but to no avail. it's dead. Please tell me something not so bad. :-)

    what type of camera is it?
    did you try pulling off the lens?
    how bout using a different battery to test?

    Jason, It's a Canon Rebel XT. Yes, I took the lens off and the shutter is off (I can't see the sensor), I used another battery too and still.

    Hi mats, sorry to hear about your camera. If you put a fully charged battery in, and the shutter is still not working... I'm afraid the problem is more serious. And I wouldn't try to repair it myself, you might do more damage than help. I think your only option is to take it to a professional shop.

    Thanks Raugustyn, I've talked to Canon and they want the camera shipped to them. Arrrgh! :-)))))
