SoFoBoMo is a project that may be of interest to Am3 members. The notion is to design/shoot an online pdf photo book within the time constraint of a month. Details on link provided...best.

I looked it up and it looks like a great idea. Although a little bit scary for me... how about you ? are you going to do it Jerry?

Nothing particularly scary about it. I thought photo blogging was scary but now I have far more images than I could ever post. The primary difficulty is the page layout and the applicable learning curve if you haven't had that experience. I'm putting mine up as a free PDF download generated in iWork Pages, but will have it for sale locally as a loose leaf folio of inkjet prints. The on demand printing sites are generally poor. I'm live blogging the experience with the occasional tweet

I will definitely follow your blog Jerry. My problem is not the photography or technical side of putting a book together in PDF but rather the time commitment, especially right now, with the spring coming. But I like the idea so much that I might just undertake a project like that without the time constraint, just for myself.
On another note, your b&w is just extraordinary. I read on your blog that you just use Lightroom for conversion. I have it too (version 2.3) and tried it many times for b&w, but I never got results like yours, especially the richness of tones in grey.
Could you share with us how you do it and which parts of the Develop panels you use most ?

    cheers
    Roman

Certainly. I'll put the 2 minute twiddle up as a new discussion to make it more search friendly. [edit] Posted in Post-Production as Lightroom 2.0 convert to B/W Workflow

jerry, very interested in your live blogging the book process - not quite ready to sign up for tweets yet, however. Thanks for opening my eyes to this.
