I've just posted a new shot here:http://andrewgould.aminus3.com/image/2009-01-20.html and the EXIF Info reads: Canon EOS 40D 1563/1000000 second F/9.0 ISO 200 42 mm
Just wanted to know if anyone else is having this problem.
This is the data that we received from the image and 1563/1000000 is the lowest common denominator so it is displaying properly. (Note that this translates to approx. 1 / 639.795266 of a second.)
I'm curious if you view the image in a image browser like Picasa or Adobe Bridge, what do they say the exposure time is? Do they round to 1/640 second?
I've gone ahead and made the assumption that rounding the exposure is better than keeping it in its original form. You should notice the change immediately.
Hi and thanks. Yes, in Adobe Bridge and FastStone Image Viewer it says 1/640. I see that you've made it display as 1/640 in my post now. Why then did it originally show up in that odd way that is hard for a photographer to relate to? Looking back through my posts, I see that the shutter speed in the EXIF information is displayed normally for all shots from my Canon models 350D, 40D and G10. By the way, the lens used in this latest post is the same Sigma 18-200mm as in most posts over the last year. I say this in case any particular lens could be the cause of the problem.
