On a recent "MY AM3" News and Views page, you described how you could upload photos to many sites at once utilizing the website www.pixelpipe.com. So, I went and checked it out. Sadly of the sites listed that we could upload photos to, Aminus3 was not one of them.
Is any plan in the works to allow uploads via pixelpipe?
Interesting question and definitely an area we could investigate. Currently we haven't got time to figure out what it would take to make pixelpipe work with Aminus3. As of today Am3 does not provide any third party integration solution. So on the surface it appears that it might require some Am3 development work to achieve this. The other important question is : Would it be worth it? I am not very sure how popular pixelpipe is and whether would it continue to attract people.
We were in a similar position when we learned about PicLens. It was something that became very popular and fast and we did make some changes in Am3 to make Am3 work with Piclens.
Pixelpipe has potential, I think. It is still a bit rough about the edges. How? If you always load photos to both Flickr AND Photobucket, then it cuts out the steps of using two upload programs and typing in the same description, tags, etc twice. But it's a lot more clumsy if you want to upload some pictures to only Flickr, some to only Photobucket, and some to both. You have to define a command, then type it in as needed. Not good.
What I would love to see is one program that will use the tags I define in Lightroom without having to type them in whenever I upload then somewhere.
I've brought this up in another forum that I think it would be useful to have a plugin that allows you to upload files from Lightroom (or some other similar app). It seems to me that if we focus on an app that lots of people use like Photoshop or Lightroom, that there would be broader appeal. What do you guys think?
Building a plugin for Lightroom doesn't look terrible difficult. The part that would need to be figured out is how we integrate\access aminus3.
